In stock for $1099.or wait 4-6 months for $900-1000 something? I gave the link to a thread where I did just that.on this page, no less.

Post some links where Colts are 'In Stock" for RRA price's.I don't believe it and have not seen it anywhere. Somepeople's budgets are a lot tighter than others, but hell for only $50 there's very little point to not getting the colt. I'm not advocating he not get a colt (although personally, I'd get a DD or LMT instead but digress), just whether or not it's worth it to him to spend the extra. (If you have but OP is just being a butthead then I apologize.) If you know where to get a colt delivered for $1025, then please tell him and I'm sure others would like to know too.

#ROCK RIVER ARMS A2 CARRY HANDLE PLUS#
Cheapest colt I could find was $1150 plus the $25 for shipping, $1175 - 975 = $200 a wait of who knows how long for the RRA. I say as long as it's not an olympic, hesse or whatever, he'll enjoy owning the RRA.Ĭolt 6920s are within $50 of the price he would pay for the RRA.Īnd the Colts are in stock vs.

PLUS, he'll probably get BRD and end up getting another anyway. IF the op has the extra $200-300 to spend on a better rifle and would rather do so instead of taking that money and spending it on extra mags/ammo/carrying bag/accessories, I doubt he would notice the difference in what I'm going to assume will be the intended usage. Plink, home defense, maybe some varmint hunting, perhaps a carbine course in the near future. Op is buying his first AR, so probably will be less than average AR owner (relative to the "average" arfcom member). If it goes bang every time he pulls the trigger, what else could he do with it where he'd notice the difference? Outside of being deployed in afghanistan shooting thousands of rounds per week (guessing). Then spend the extra money on ammo, you will need that more than a CMV barrel anyway. Granted, the Colt, BCM, LMT, Noveske, ect have more features but if your use for the gun is going to the range, shooting cans or even hunting hogs then just get the RR you will never know the difference. I agree, with 6920s going for around $1100 shipped, you'd be a fool to pay $1000 for a RRA. I don't see why you should spend that much money and get an inferior rifle when there are so many better options just outside that price range. Colts's LE6920, a Bravo Company rifle (you will have to buy the upper and lower separately but it is not difficult since they are assembled) or Daniel Defense's new offerings come to mind. Now, for $1,000 you are but a $100 or $200 from a rifle made by a company that does not cut those corners or use incorrect parts. They use the wrong bolt carrier, I do not believe their bolts are the correct Carpenter 158 steel, they do not use the correct extractor insert or buffer. Their m4 feedramps are cut into the receiver with a die grinder after it is anodized. They cut corners on barrel steel, receiver extensions, etc. RRA would be classified as a tier 2 company.

While there is no set in stone standard, you must realize that some companies cut corners in production to save costs, and some companies do not.
